LOL. I had to take my blog post title from New York Press.
So, there is all this talk about Rape-aXe, the female anti-rape condom. I must say, I cringed when I read what it did to a man’s nether equipment if he decided to stick it where it did not belong. The funny thing is that there are critics out there that feel this is a medieval torture device. And I am thinking…yeah, it is….but so is rape right?
However, there are some really valid points. Will the device hurt or help women? Will an attacker get enraged and beat the crap out of the female or even kill if he gets stuck? Here are some points submitted by Intelligent Thinker on Mother Jones:
This anti-rape condom is a massively misguided misandric/male-hating gimmick that will be used by companies that license the rights to it for making a quick dollar and do nothing to solve the rape problem, make the streets in safer, or create a safer environment for women. In fact, such an anti-penis condom can escalate violence and tension between men and women. Why? Here is a long list of reasons:
1. It will NOT stop gang rape.
Also if 1st guy gets it stuck on his penis, other guys will probably rape, and then kill woman.
2. It will ENCOURAGE ANAL RAPE.
Obviously ANAL RAPE will be a clear method to avoid women with possible anti-penis devices in their vagina.
3. It will encourage ways to TEST and REMOVE the anti-rape condom.
Rapists can use dildos, sticks, special removal devices, bananas, cucumbers, sausages, etc.. to get test for and remove the anti-rape condom.
After removing anti-rape condom, he might reverse it and put on a dildo and into her vagina. It is even possible some men would wear such barbed condoms in reverse on their penis and inflict massive pain on the rape victim.
4. It will likely encourage rapists to INJURE or KILL women
The rapists is like to be physically on top of the woman or in some physically dominate position. Pain from the anti-rape condom on his penis could enrage him and cause an attempt to kill the woman. If he has a gun or knife, the likelihood he will fatally injure her is vastly increase. Even if not the case, an adrenaline high enraged male attacker on top of a possibly naked or 1/2 naked woman can be a physical fight that results in her death.
5. The odds that man-hating or psychologically deranged women will use an anti-penis device will vastly INCREASE.
A. Going to clubs or bars to trap men, claim the sex was rape, and injure their penis with a anti-penis condom.
B. Vengeful or vindictive women getting back at boyfriends or husbands over various petty issues.
6. The device will likely cause numerous LAWSUITS due to physical damage to the penis.
Permanent scarring of the penis, structural damage to the penis, problems removing the anti-penis condom, etc… can easily result in legal battles.
7. The use of an anti-rape condom on a penis is NOT proof of rape,
A. The man may DISPUTE the rape charge, by stating the woman FORGOT to remove the anti-penis condom before sex.
B. A woman REMOVING the anti-penis condom might be considered by a court or jury as CONSENT to have sex.
C. The rape charge by the woman might be FALSE and a case of blackmail, revenge, male hate, drunkenness, or lying.
8. A woman having to wear an anti-rape condom EVERY DAY is both COSTLY and IMPRACTICAL.
A. How does she wear or insert it when she is menstruating?
B. It can be too expensive for women to buy this anti-penis condom nearly every day or for years
9. It does NOT help make the streets safer for women, reduce crime, or DECREASE violence and tension between men and women.
So what say you? Do you think Intelligent Thinker is right or do you think he (I am assuming it is a HE … I don’t see a woman posting all this well thought out information) is protesting a little too much?

*sigh*…………….hmmm………have a nice day.
LOL…na wetin…you no fit leave comment?
I think Intelligent Thinker has some excellent points.
Intelligent Thinker sure has some valid points….been a minute since I came by.
Intelligent Thinker raised some good points but when I saw this one I raised my eyebrows
6. The device will likely cause numerous LAWSUITS due to physical damage to the penis.
If a guy should go and stick his penis where it is not wanted and it gets injured why would he to file a lawsuit? Its like someone coming into your house to steal and you shoot them in the leg. They were not meant to be in your house trying to steal in the first place so if they get shot – they deserve it.
Also, If the rapist’s penis gets stuck in the device he might decide to beat up the woman in frustration. I think a taser is a better option. Send bolts of electricity through the man. And his penis too for added measure.
I can just imagin what the court transcript will read like:
“Plaintiff claims while in the act of sexual assault there was significant damage to his nether-region.”
LOL.
wow..that’s some wonderful assessment of the ‘wonder’ condom..
i agree..
and with Lady X too on d lawsuit thing.
. and thinking of how messy the real( or shld i say ordinary) female condom is, i wonder how this one will be..
this cannot be like the iucd that one cant feel cos it’s way inside, so am just wondering how uncomfortable it will be wearing this wherever u go
i wonder too…but i believe this was made for the SA market where rape is rampant I hear.
LOL…. I dont know what to say…walahi.
Intelligent thinker did raise some good points, However some got O_O from me. #Cringeworthy!
No comment. Dislike the idea
Thinker got some good albeit repetitive points, na wa o, the person really sat and thought this thing out.
Personally, I wouldn’t walk around with something stuck inside of me, citing ‘in case of incasity’.
It is like having your period 24/7 and having to wear a tampon all the time. Could be uncomfortable but if you live in a high crime area, prolly not a bad idea.
IT has some points but they doth protest too much. I do not think the maker or marketers of the Rape Axe expect it to become a solution to rape or or even that pervasive. I think it is more of a gimmick to focus attention on how to combat rape on one hand and promote the female condom on the other.
You are right, it won’t prevent rape but it is a step in the right direction.
Some of iThinker’s points were to the T and very well thought out. So well thought out that I am impressed beyond measure. The device really doesn’t solve the problem, AT ALL
I wonder about the whole “well thought out” thing…I wonder….
I didn’t even know such a thing had been invented! Gosh! A woman can’t wear that everyday now…….
thats a wonderful assesment by Intelligent thinker oh….
