Update of sorts…

29 Mar

The show “Lost in Yankee” was so much fun!  I went back to listen to snippets of the show because I felt I missed out on a few parts either because I was either talking, laughing or reading chatroom comments.

I have hosted the show with Vera a few times and noticed that each time my voice sounded too “aje butter.”  So this time I wanted to make sure I sounded very Nigerian.  Okay – imo, I over did it big time.  It did not help that I had just gotten over a small cold, battling a horrible migraine and was really feeling quite icky but I did not want to disappoint so I went ahead with the show.  At the very least I could prove to Vera that I was NOT pregnant.

I had a blast but I thought I sounded a little crackly … and when I laughed it sounded like the wicked witch of the west.  Le Sigh.  I apologize to all listens for my over-exuberance and that annoying high pitch ….and any long preachy diatribe I may have launched into.  I was just passionate about the topic.

On another note,  I am happy with this whole diet thing…yesterday, I actually ate lunch without having to unbutton my pants!!!

Okay, in my previous post, I talked about skipping breakfast and I may have inadvertently made this sound like it is a healthy option.  Skipping breakfast works for me but it may not be for you.  Rule of thumb, try not to go over 300 calories with whatever breakfast item you choose to eat. Honestly, everyday is a challenge but I as quiet pleased and ready to tackle the next 10 pounds!  If I succeed….I will  be over the moon.

Thanks to all of you that tuned in.  If you didn’t tune in, you can still listen to my sexy high-pitched crackly voice in a taped version of the show on verastic.com

I had fun listening anyway. and No you didnt sound preachy. Experience shone through and I am sure thats what listeners would have wished to hear.

LOL at your laugh sounding like the Wicked Witch of the West… I totally get what you mean. Hearing your own voice played pack is too weird. One time, a friend recorded me speaking without my knowledge and when he played it back I sounded like one of those girls with the confused accents that I insult all the time. It’s like are you British? Are you Nigerian? Are you even West Indian sef? LOL… It sounded way deeper than I thought it was as well.. Weird…

Good luck with the diet… Being able to eat without having to “set your stomach free” is a big step. The word “skip” isn’t in my dictionary when it comes to food sha- except I’m fasting. So when you consider that only God can make me miss a meal, you can start to understand the gravity of the situation.
