It is good…

17 Jun

….. to be back!  For the past week I have been trying to get my sleep routine back on track.  When I was in Seoul I was averaged three to four hours of sleep a day.  Now I am playing catch-up and dealing with wedding planning drama.  To have the wedding in Rochester vs. Lagos.  His side vs. my side.  This is why I want to go to Vegas.  *hisssssss*

For some reason I have been having a bit of luck.  Before I left for Seoul, this yeye man backed into me at a parking lot.  I did not call the cops because I knew he had been drinking and did not want to get him in trouble.  He gave me his insurance information and said he would take care of things, later he changed his story and his insurance refused to pay for my dented bumper.  I intended to call him to give him a piece of my mind, meanwhile, the guy I took  the car to at the body shop popped out the dent for free.  I have faith in humans once more.

Turtle and I went to the Mets vs. Braves game yesterday with a group of friends.  I had fun heckling Chipper Jones – whom I kept yelling at saying, “Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy!!!”    His real name is Larry Jones and Mets fans like to call him “Larry,” since Larry is not as cool as “Chipper.”  Needless to say, I pissed a bunch of Braves fans.  I did not care.  I don’t even like baseball.  I was doing it out of boredom.

So this morning after only six hours of sleep, I was on my way to work trying really hard to stay awake and wishing I had stopped for coffee at a gas station.  I was dangerously driving drowsy that I forgot to slow down at one notorious speed trap.  I got pulled over by a state trooper.  He took my license and asked me if I knew I had been speeding.  Without batting an eye, I told him the truth. I had not been paying attention.  The man looked at my address and noted I had not changed my address from when I moved in with Turtle.  He gave me a citation for not changing my address within a 60 day period and let me off with a warning on the speeding. Phew!

On the way back from my ten-hour flight from Seoul, I had a two hour layover in San Francisco.  Not wanting to go through another five hours of flying sober, I had two Heinekens at an airport bar.  Nicely buzzed, I boarded the flight – one of the last people to do so.  Before taking my seat, I went to use the bathroom.  Some guy sitting near the bathroom gave me a fist bump.  Thinking he was a former alumni (I was wearing a college t-shirt) I responded positively to his fist bump.  An hour later, I went back to use the bathroom again.  He gave me another fist bump.  Then I asked him, “did you go to [bleep] college?”

He said, “no.”

Then I asked, “why do you keep fist bumping me?”

He said, “because when you boarded the plane you looked so happy.”

I replied, “dude, I was not happy, I was buzzed.”

In the upcoming weeks I will be doing a series of posts called The Korean Experience.  I will give accounts of my experience living in Seoul. It should be interesting.  Don’t forget to check them out!

Peace.

    First!

Glad to see you back. You were missed. Have the wedding in Rochester, since I’m in NY I can definitely attend! Lol.

Lmao @ the guy on the plane. I once hi-fived someone by accident when the person was trying to hi-five the person behind me…and they both looked at me like, wtf. Very embarrassing.

Looking forward to your Korea posts.

    Also kudos on implementing IntenseDebate.
